Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Armed Attacks.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether the armed men who attempted to rob money at a dance hall at Ballyfarnon, County Roscommon, on Saturday, 29th December, have been identified and charged, and if he will state before what type of court they were charged, and if convicted what sentences were imposed, and whether the arms carried on the occasion have been traced and taken possession of by the police.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether the armed men who held up and robbed an ex-member of the National Army at Ballyfad, Coolgreaney, County Wexford, on the 24th December last, have been identified and charged, and if so, if he will state before what type of court they were charged, and if convicted what sentence was imposed, and whether the arms carried on the occasion have been traced and taken possession of by the police.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether the armed and masked persons who are reported on 15th December last to have raided and robbed the Post Office at Clogher, near Castlebar, have been identified and charged, and if so, if he will state before what type of court they were charged, and if convicted what punishment was imposed, and whether the arms carried on the occasion have been traced and taken possession of by the police.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether the armed and masked man who robbed the Post Office at Lyreacrompane, near Listowel, at about 10 a.m. on the 16th November last, has yet been identified and charged, and, if so, if he will state before what type of court he was charged, and if he was convicted, and, if so, what punishment was imposed; and if he will state if the arms carried on the occasion have been traced and taken possession of by the police.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state if the armed body who attacked the hall at Shannon Harbour, Offaly, while a dance was in progress, on Sunday night, 7th October, have yet been identified and charged, and, if so, if he will state before what court they were charged and what punishment was imposed, and whether the arms carried on the occasion have been traced and taken possession of by the police.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether any members of the party of armed and masked men who destroyed a hay shed at Coragh, County Wexford, in October last have been identified and charged and if he will state before what type of court they were charged, and if they were convicted, and if so, what punishment was imposed, and whether the arms carried on the occasion have been traced and taken possession of by the police.

I propose to take together questions Nos. 16 to 21, inclusive. No person has been charged in connection with any of those outrages, and investigations are proceeding.
