asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the fact that the Minister for Finance has announced that when the present financial year closes he will have a very creditable and comfortable surplus in the Exchequer, he will have the bounty on sheep and lambs (exported) restored in time to benefit sheep-breeders the first of whose crop of lambs for the present year will be coming on the market in the immediate future.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bounty on Sheep and Lambs.
It is not proposed to grant a bounty on exported sheep and lambs.
Arising out of the Minister's reply, seeing that we have a very big crop of lambs this year, it will mean that the farmer will get a very bad price. I think that the Minister should make some effort to help them out, as they are all tillage farmers.
