Vol. 59 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Moatefarrell Unemployment Claim.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (1) what is the reason for the delay in paying unemployment assistance to Patrick Kenny, Currygrane, Moatefarrell, Mostrim, County Longford; (2) the amount now due to him from (a) 1st April, 1034, to 1st January, 1935, and (b) from 1st August, 1935, to 1st October, 1935; if the Minister is aware that he was paid 4/- in the first week of January, 1935, and then 7/6 per week afterwards to 1st August, 1935; that his payments were stopped in August, 1935; that he is signing on at the Employment Exchange since, and if the Minister will state the amounts now due and when payment may be expected.

From the information furnished by the Deputy it has not been possible to identify in the records of the Department the applicant to whom he refers. If, however, he will be good enough to let me know the number of Mr. Kenny's Qualification Certificate and the Local Office at which he is furnishing evidence of unemployment I shall have further inquiries made and shall let him know the result as soon as possible.
