The results of the examination conducted from 1929 to 1931 into the effect of derating on Saorstát industry were published in the reports of the Commission of Inquiry into derating. The various Memoranda and the Minutes of Evidence on which these reports were based were not published and the commission expressed no opinion regarding their publication. It is the opinion of the Government that the expense of publication of these documents (relating as they do to an inquiry which terminated five years ago) would not be justified by the interest that has been shown in them. I understand, however, that persons interested in the subject can obtain from the Stationery Office a limited number of unrevised copies of the verbatim reports of the proceedings in stencilled form on payment of a charge proportionate to the amount of material required.
