Vol. 61 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tuberculosis in Cattle.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the total number of cattle, and the number of milch cows, respectively, examined in the recent investigations made by his Department on the incidence of tuberculosis in cattle; the number of each in which there was evidence of tuberculous infection as judged (a) by physical examination; (b) by the tuberculin test; and the number of milch cows in which there was evidence of tuberculosis of the udder.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of the 12th instant to his previous question on the subject, to which I have nothing to add.

May I ask if the Minister realises that his Department has locked up, or he has locked up, certain information which would be of the greatest interest and value to the public, and which is not available from any other source in the country?

Dr. Ryan

If the information is required by anyone doing research or scientific work it will be possible to get any information we have.
