asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state in respect of each county board of health district the average building cost, the average all-in cost, the average capital cost borne by the State, and the average capital cost borne by the local authorities of the labourers' cottages erected in the last financial year for which the information is available, and the average rent payable by the occupiers of such cottages.

The capital cost borne by local authorities is 40 per cent. of the all-in cost, where the cost does not exceed £300 per cottage, subject to the application of receipts from tenants over and above the cost incurred by the local authorities on management and upkeep. Where the all-in cost exceeds £300 per cottage the excess over this figure is an additional charge on the local authorities.
The average weekly rent payable by the tenants is 4/- in Dublin County and 2/- for the remainder of An Saorstát.
