The preparation of the Returns of Local Taxation for the year ended 31st March, 1936, has not been fully completed, but the amount of indebtedness of local bodies, including indebtedness in respect of issues of stock at that date, has been provisionally ascertained to be £24,573,897. The amount in sinking funds at the 31st March, 1936, for redemption of stock was £570,267.
