Vol. 66 No. 15

Written Answers. - Mortality Claims

asked the Minister for Defence if he would state the present position of the claim lodged by the late John O'Leary, South Square, Macroom, in respect of the death of his son, Timothy, killed in action at Ballineen, County Cork, on 4th November, 1922.

Mr. John O'Leary and his wife died before a decision was reached on their application under the Army Pensions Act, 1932, in respect of the death of their son Timothy. Their death determined their claim.

An application from Mr. Anthony O'Leary, brother of the deceased, Timothy O'Leary, is at present under consideration, and a decision, when reached, will be conveyed to him without delay.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the present position of the claim of Mrs. Bridget Cottam, Upper Bridge Street, Skibbereen, to a pension in respect of the death of her son, William Cottam.

No award was made to Mrs. Bridget Cottam under the Army Pensions Act, 1932, because the Army Pensions Board reported that they were not satisfied that the death of her son, William, was attributable to military service.
