Written Answers. - Cork Military Pension Claims.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the present position of the claim of Michael Shanahan, 17 George's Quay, Cork, to a military service pension.

Michael Shanahan's claim under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934, has been referred for report to the referee.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the present position of the claim of David O'Brien, 97 Barrack Street, Cork, to a disability pension.

In this case the Army Pensions Board reported that David O'Brien's disability was not attributable to military service and in the circumstances no award could be made to him under the Army Pensions Act, 1932.

It will be possible, however, to afford the claim further consideration on the enactment of the Army Pensions Bill, 1936.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the present position of the claim to a military service pension of James Hurley, Carhue, Bandon, County Cork.

The claim of James Hurley has been referred for report to the referee, and is under investigation by the advisory committee.
