Vol. 67 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Bandon Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if representations have been made to the Irish Land Commission from Bandon Town Commissioners, also repeated representations made by both the Bandon Fianna Fáil and Labour organisations, outlining the necessity for the acquisition of portion of the Hewitt estate, Bandon, for the purpose of a much-needed sportsfield, playing pitch and public park, and if he will state whether he now proposes to have the lands acquired immediately for this purpose.

Mr. Boland

Representations such as the Deputy mentions have been received by the Land Commission, and an inspection is being made to ascertain the suitability for their purposes of the lands of Clancoolmore on the Hewitt estate. It is not possible at present to state if these lands will be acquired.
