asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what stage has been reached in the negotiations with the South Tipperary Board of Health for the transfer of the site at Fethard military barracks for the purpose of a housing scheme, and whether, in view of the great need for housing and for employment in Fethard, he will expedite the procedure so far as the Board of Works is concerned towards the completion of the transfer of this site.

The Commissioners of Public Works have communicated with the commissioner administering the affairs of the local bodies concerned informing him of the terms and conditions on which they would be prepared to recommend the Minister for Finance to grant a lease of the required portion of the drill field attached to Fethard former military barracks for the purpose of a housing scheme, and to dedicate portion of the barracks for the purpose of a roadway giving entrance to the scheme. When they receive a reply to this communication, the Commissioners of Public Works will deal with the matter as expeditiously as possible.
