I propose to take together the Deputy's two questions relating to State forestry operations.
The area planted in the entire Saorstát during the planting season 1935-36 was 6,919 acres, and in 1936-37 was 7,200 acres, approximately. The area planted in County Kilkenny in 1935-36 was 211 acres, and in 1936-37 was 292 acres approximately. The final figures for 1936-37 are not yet available.
The total amount of the Forestry Vote for the financial year 1935-36 was £230,510, of which £219,081 was expended. In the year 1936-37 the amount of the Vote was £154,439, of which £150,270 was expended (approximately). There is no separate Vote for County Kilkenny.
