I have met deputations from the Slaney netsmen on more than one occasion and have discussed with them the question of holding an inquiry into the matter referred to. While I indicated that I was willing to do whatever was practicable to meet their representations, I did definitely tell them that I would not consider the making of any change until after the enactment of the Inland Fisheries Bill which is now in course of preparation.
Is there any possibility of having the inquiry before the fishing season starts next year?
