Introduction of Bills. - Shop Assistants (Conditions of Employment) Bill, 1937—First Stage.
Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make further and better provision for regulating the conditions under which persons are employed in shops, to make provision for ensuring the payment of wages at fair rates to persons so employed, and to provide for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.—(The President).
Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 29th September.
The same remarks apply to this Bill as to the last. I am not able to give any definite date, as some drafting difficulties have arisen in connection with it. I would not like to give any definite date for its circulation. As soon as these Bills are ready they will be circulated.
