Vol. 69 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Hospital in Athy.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the cause of the delay in proceeding with the new hospital in Athy, County Kildare.

The three lowest tenders submitted by contractors were considered in turn by the board of health. On being notified of the acceptance of the tenders the contractors either withdrew or sought to vary the terms of their tenders in a manner contrary to the conditions on which tenders were invited.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary indicate what steps are being taken to ensure that the hospital will be erected without further delay?

It is intended to ask the board of health to re-advertise.
