Vol. 71 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Tipperary Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Fitzgerald Estate, Ballynatton, Clerihan, Clonmel, County tipperary, has been offered to the Land Commission; whether the lands have been inspected; and, if so, what is the report; and if he will see that this estate will be taken over at an early date for the relief of congestion, which is very acute in the district.

The estate of R.J. and P. Fitzgerald, comprising 125 acres of the lands of Magnistown and Ballinattin Lower, was offered for sale to the Land Commission, who have directed that inquiries be made to ascertain the suitability of the lands for their purposes. Pending the completion of these inquiries it is not possible to anticipate a decision as to the acquisition of the lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission has yet acquired the Carden estate, Fishmoy, Templemore, County Tipperary; and, if so, when it is likely to be divided.

The Land Commission have not yet acquired the lands of Fishmoyne and Kilfithmone on the Carden estate, but the purchase price has been settled and a scheme of division will be prepared as soon as possible.
