Vol. 71 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of County Cork Mills.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has any knowledge of the number of workers who were put out of employment through the closing down of Sallybrook Mills at. Riverstown, County Cork; and how many of them have since been absorbed in employment at the woollen mills at Dripsey, which are under the same management.

While the records of the Department do not contain the information in the form desired by the Deputy, I understand, as a result of inquiries made, that approximately 60 workers were disemployed through the closing down of the Sallybrook Mills and that four of these workers were absorbed into employment at the Dripsey Mills.
