Vol. 73 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Schemes in South Cork.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the cause of the delay in proceeding with the erection of houses under the non-municipal housing schemes in the South Cork Board area.

The non-municipal towns schemes referred to embrace 33 separate sites and 417 cottages. The sites, except one which has not yet been acquired, were the subject of a Compulsory Purchase Order which was duly confirmed by me.

The general position of the scheme up to date is that full working drawings have been prepared and approved in respect of 31 sites.

In view of the character and extent of the scheme the rate of progress has been reasonable. I expect the board of health will soon proceed to make their arrangements for the erection of the cottages.
