Vol. 73 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork City Management Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is now in a position to indicate which of the proposals submitted to him by the Cork Corporation for the purpose of amending the Cork City Management Act he is prepared to adopt, and when the proposals for legislation to carry the intentions of the corporation in that regard into effect will be submitted to the Dáil.

I have indicated to the Cork City Council the extent to which their proposals for the amendment of the Cork City Management Act can be adopted. The council have notified me of their willingness to postpone certain proposals that were unacceptable. The preparation of the Bill will be put in hands when information which the Department requires and which the City Manager is preparing has been furnished. I cannot state at the present time when the Bill will be submitted to the Dáil.
