Vol. 77 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Health Insurance Acts.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state when the report of the actuary on the administration of the Health Insurance Acts for 1935-37 will be made available to Deputies.

A copy of the actuarial report on an investigation of the sickness claims experience of the Unified Society during the years 1935, 1936 and 1937 was laid on the Table of the House on the 1st August, 1939.

Arising out of the Parliamentary Secretary's reply will he say if it is the intention to circulate copies of the report?

It is not intended to publish or circulate copies of the report.

Why not?

It is not considered to be of sufficient general public interest to justify the cost of printing and circulating the report.

What is the estimated cost of printing and circulating?

I have not got the figures before me at the moment.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary say if a copy would be made available for the information of any Deputy who wants to consult it?

Yes, if any Deputy applies to the Department a copy will be made available to him.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary say if the actuarial report covers disablement benefit claims in addition to sickness benefit claims?
