There is no prospect so far as I can see of any such proposals being submitted in the present year.
Arising out of the Minister's reply, would he say whether he gave consideration to a suggestion which was made to his predecessor that advantage might be taken of the introduction of some of the Local Government Bills to incorporate a provision of this kind in one of such Bills?
That matter has been considered, but I do not think we could introduce it until the Local Government Bill becomes law.
