Vol. 82 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Templemore Allotments.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that notice was issued to the tenants of 18 new houses built by the board of health at Templetwohy, Templemore, County Tipperary, to have their plots tilled, and whether he is further aware that these tenants have no plots.

In a circular letter issued by my Department on 31st January last it was suggested that the board should advise the tenants of labourers' cottages to till their plots to the fullest extent possible. The issue of such notices is entirely a matter for the board of health. As regards the latter part of the question, I am aware that of the 18 cottages provided at Templetwohy the gardens are small, but I understand that the six largest plots which comprise 16 perches each are well tilled.
