Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Foreign Wheat Imports.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state the quantity of foreign wheat imported through the Port of Dublin during the past 12 months, the quantity of such wheat railed from Dublin to (a) Cork, (b) Limerick, and (c) Waterford, the cost per ton of transporting wheat from the Port of Dublin to (a) Cork, (b) Limerick, and (c) Waterford; the proportion of the foreign wheat railed to (a) Cork, (b) Limerick, and (c) Waterford which was in excess of the quota required to serve a 20-mile radius of these cities, and the quantity of flour extracted from such wheat sold by the mills in (a) Cork, (b) Limerick, and (c) Waterford for the delivery to centres within 50 miles of Dublin.

It is not in the public interest to give the information asked for in the first part of the question as to the quantity of wheat imported at the various ports of this country.

The information asked for in the second part of the question is not available.
