Vol. 88 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fuel Emergency Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that there are at present some 500 or 600 men living in Dublin lodging-houses and hostels who are in receipt of 10/6 unemployment assistance only, without further subsidy from any source; and whether he will bring these men within the scope of the Fuel Emergency Scheme.

There is no information in my Department in regard to persons in receipt of unemployment assistance. If any such persons live in lodging-houses or hostels in Dublin they would not come within the fuel scheme administered by the Commissioners for the Dublin Board of Assistance as that scheme extends only to necessitous households.

Does the Parliamentary Secretary not agree that those in receipt of unemployment assistance living in houses other than hostels are entitled to have this scheme extended to them?

That is not the question.

That is a separate question.

It is a separate question about the same matter.

No. Being a separate question it cannot relate to the same matter.
