Vol. 89 No. 3

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Alexander Estate (County Dublin).

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission are endeavouring to obtain possession of a 22-acre holding on the Alexander estate, Tubbergragen, Garristown, owned by J. Andrews (Junior), of Baldwinstown, Garristown, and if he is aware that this holding was originally owned by Mr. Andrews' father; and, further, if he is aware that this man has met with a considerable amount of trouble recently owing to the death of his mother and also the accidental burning of a house, and that he is agreeable to make a reasonable offer to pay off the arrears which amount to about £60; and whether, in view of this, the Minister will arrange to allow Mr. Andrews to remain in occupation of the holding.

The Land Commission are in possession of this holding since 1938, when it was taken up for default, and have recently approved of a letting of the holding to John Andrews (Junior), for tillage and grazing for this season, conditional on his paying arrears of rent due out of a previous letting.
