Vol. 89 No. 3

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Petrol for Delivery Vans.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that the withdrawal of permits and petrol allowances to owners of wholesale delivery vans has caused considerable hardship and lack of stocks to small shops throughout County Dublin; and if he is prepared to reconsider his decision and restore permits and small allowances of petrol to enable these wholesalers to supply small shops throughout County Dublin.

I am aware that the shortage of supplies of petrol has caused inconvenience and some hardship in the case of small shops in the County Dublin area which formerly relied for their supplies on wholesale distributors using travelling stores. I regret that the petrol position will not allow of the restoration of petrol allowances in such cases.
