Vol. 91 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post-War Electrical Development.

Mr. Dockrell

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if any progress has been made with the planning of post-war electrical development; if he can state what rivers in the country give most promise; and whether any plans have as yet been made in his Department to carry out the necessary works.

The making of plans for the execution of works for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity is a matter primarily for the Electricity Supply Board. The board is proceeding with plans for post-war electrical development. A Bill to facilitate the execution of such works is under consideration. It is not at present practicable to give more detailed information in respect of the matters referred to in the Deputy's question.
