Vol. 91 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Election Incidents at Crumlin.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that a number of windows were broken in houses occupied by Fianna Fáil supporters in Crumlin during the recent elections, and if he will state if anyone has been apprehended in connection with these occurrences; further, if he will state when the new barracks in Grumlin will be occupied, and what staff he proposes to station there.

Mr. Boland

The police received reports of the breaking of windows in four houses in the Cruimlin area, in which Fianna Fáil election posters were displayed during the recent general election. So far they have been unable to trace the culprits.

The opening of the new police station in Crumlin has been delayed owing to difficulty in obtaining furniture for it. I hope that it will be opened before the end of the year, however. Five sergeants and 40 Guards will be allocated to the new station.

Can the Minister say if this occurred on the night that "MacEntee's van" was out?
