Vol. 92 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wexford Workers.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the Wages Tribunal will deal with the claims for bonus made by the Amalgamated Engineering Union, the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union, and the Irish Engineering Union, on behalf of the employees of Messrs. Pierce's and the Wexford Engineering Company.

The date on which a tribunal will deal with an application referred to it under Emergency Powers (No. 260) Order, 1943, is a matter for the tribunal. The application referred to in the Question will be heard at Wexford on to-morrow, the 17th instant. Certain delays which occurred in this case are attributable mainly to necessary readjustment of arrangements for meetings of tribunals in consequence of changes in the appointment of chairmen.
