I understand the Local Appointments Commission will very soon make a recommendation to the local authority for the permanent filling of the Inchigeela post. The advertising of the Coolmountain post, for which a statutory request was received by the commissioners on the 30th October last, was deferred at the request of my Department pending the making of a general Order declaring the qualifications for the office of dispensary medical officer. The terms of the general Order in question have been settled in consultation with the commissioners, and, as far as possible, the further steps necessary for the filling of the post will be expedited.
