Supplementary and Additional Estimates—Leave to Introduce.

I move that leave be given by Dáil Eireann to introduce the following Supplementary and Additional Estimates for the services of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1944, namely:—

16 (Superannuation and Retired Allowances),

25 (Law Charges),

26 (Universities and Colleges),

75 (Repayments to Contingency Fund),

9 (Office of Public Works),

30 (Agriculture),

35 (District Court),

39 (Public Record Office),

42 (General Register Office),

43 (Dundrum Asylum),

45 (Office of the Minister for Education),

49 (Science and Art),

50 (Reformatory and Industrial Schools),

52 (Lands),

53 (Forestry),

54 (Gaeltacht Services),

58 (Marine Service),

63 (Army).

Leave granted.

When is it proposed to take the Estimates?

It is proposed to take a number of them to-morrow, if the House agrees. They will be circulated immediately. The following are those that it is proposed to take to-morrow, with the permission of the House:—No. 16, Superannuation and Retired Allowances; 25, Law Charges; 26, Universities and Colleges; 35, District Court; 39, Public Record Office; 45, Office of the Minister for Education; 50, Reformatory and Industrial Schools; 75, Repayments to Contingency Fund. The others will be circulated to-morrow.

Does that mean that the Drainage Bill will be taken to-morrow?

The Chair understands that the Drainage Bill is to be taken to-morrow.

Will the Estimates be taken before the Drainage Bill?

The Chair does not arrange the order of business.

The Drainage Bill will be taken after the Estimates. If it is not desired to take the Bill to-morrow, we shall postpone it, but we are ready to take it, if the House agrees.
