When will the Bill be circulated?
Transport Bill, 1944—First Stage.
Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to provide for the incorporation of a transport company to be called Córas Iompair Eireann, and for the transfer to that company of the undertakings of the Great Southern Railways Company and the Dublin United Transport Company, Limited, to amend the law relating to the railways and other transport undertakings, and to provide for certain other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.—(Minister for Industry and Commerce).
I hope it will be possible to circulate the Bill shortly after Easter. I could not give a specific date. The reason for the introduction of the Bill now is to avoid the loss of time which would be involved if the First Reading were not taken until the Dáil reassembles.
Would the Minister indicate a provisional date for the Second Reading?
