Vol. 93 No. 14

Sitting of the Dáil.

Before you continue the business of the Dáil, Sir, a notice has been sent out by the Minister for Defence to Deputies in connection with the Requiem Mass in Arbour Hill at 10 o'clock to-morrow for the repose of the souls of the men who died in the Insurrection of 1916. I am sure that you will agree that it is awkward that this House should be meeting at the same time. Many Deputies would wish to attend the ceremony, and I wonder if the House would agree that we should not sit to-morrow until 11.30 a.m. As I have said, members of this House would wish to be present and I hope that my suggestion will not interfere with Government arrangements for the sake of a change of one and a half hours.

That is a reasonable enough suggestion.

I think that it will be possible to agree to Deputy Donnellan's suggestion, but perhaps it would be desirable to have some consultation with the Party Whips before the Dáil adjourns this evening.

I thank the Minister.
