Vol. 94 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tea Supplies.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that people attending funerals in Dean's Grange Cemetery are unable to obtain teas in the village; that representations have been made to him by funeral undertakers, coach drivers, hackney men, etc., concerning the present unsatisfactory position where no tea can be obtained; and whether he is prepared to grant a special ration permit to Miss Soden, who has tea rooms in Dean's Grange, and who has been supplying teas to the people mentioned for the past 25 years.

I am not aware if there are any facilities for persons attending funerals at Dean's Grange Cemetery to obtain teas. Representations have been made by the persons mentioned by the Deputy but a special allowance of tea for the purpose in question could not be granted to Miss Soden in view of the acute supply position and the necessity for conserving available supplies for essential needs.
