Vol. 94 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Changing Street Names.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether his attention has been called to the difficulties experienced by nationally-minded associations in securing changes of street names with the object of commemorating the memory and works of Irish patriots; and if he will consider introducing legislation to vest in the local authorities and at their sole discretion the power of making such changes.

I recently received a communication from a borough council in regard to the amendment of the law relating to the alteration of names of streets, and the matter is under consideration.
