Vol. 95 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Meath Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what is the delay in having the Johnston Gerrard estate at Sillogue, near Navan, County Meath, vested in the tenants as it is now 13 years divided; and also if he will state when it is likely to be vested.

I am not at present in a position to state when the parcels allotted on the Johnston Gerrard estate will be vested in the allottees. Vesting work generally had to be postponed by the Land Commission owing to shortage of staff resulting from emergency conditions, and the problem now arises of vesting a large number of parcels of allotted land, involving prior investigation to ascertain whether the parcels are properly worked by the allottees. There will be no undue delay in dealing with the matter as soon as circumstances permit.
