Vol. 96 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplies of Paris Green.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state if any Paris Green will be available this season for the protection of brairds of cereal crops against possible attacks by leather jacket grubs.

Arrangements have been made for the importation this season of additional supplies of Paris Green, which should meet all reasonable demands.

Is the Minister aware that in many districts in Northern Ireland there is very serious disease in the flax crop, and although this disease is not strictly seed borne it is borne on particles of flax straw? Will he make arrangements to see that seed for Éire does not come from districts badly affected by the disease?

I presume that every effort will be made to get seed free from disease. The Deputy did not mention that in his question.
