Vol. 96 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Products—Sale and Stability of Price.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what steps are being taken to ensure certainty of sale and stability of price for agricultural products in the post-war period.

Certainty of sale and stability of price are matters of major importance and will require careful consideration by me and by the Government when the full Report of the Committee of Inquiry on Post-Emergency Agricultural Policy is received. It is hoped that this report will be submitted by the committee at an early date.

When may we expect that report?

By "an early date", I mean in the course of three or four weeks.

Is the Minister aware that another member of the Government has anticipated that report by publicly announcing that it is the Government's policy to guarantee certainty of sale at profitable prices?
