asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the employees of the Office of Public Works at the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, Killarney, are not allowed a half day with pay on Saturdays, although men employed by the Forestry Department in the same district are allowed this right; and whether, in the circumstances, he will arrange to have the concession granted in view of the fact that a similar rate of pay is given to the two groups of workers, but one group is required to work a greater number of hours per week than the other.

The staff employed at the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, referred to by the Deputy, are paid on the basis of awards made by the Agricultural Wages Board, and I am not prepared to authorise the concession of a Saturday half holiday, with pay, in their case.
