Vol. 102 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parliament Buildings.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the initial cost, plus the total expenditure to date, on structural alterations on Leinster House premises; and further, if he can state when the erection of a building commensurate with the requirements of and suitable for a National Parliament will be undertaken.

The sum of £68,000 was paid to the Royal Dublin Society during the financial year 1924-25 in respect of the taking over of Leinster House. The total expenditure to date on structural alterations amounts to £70,000 approximately. I am unable to state when the erection of new buildings will be undertaken.

Is it being contemplated?

I could not even tell the Deputy that.
