Following on the inquiry held by an officer of my Department, I have confirmed, with modifications, the County Dublin County Council Compulsory Purchase (Labourers Acts) Order, 1945, providing for the acquisition of sites for approximately 1,000 cottages in County Dublin. The preparation of the lay-out and house plans is, I understand, in progress. The commissioner for the county council informs me that he hopes to be in a position to proceed with building in the areas most urgently in need of houses in the spring.
