The Deputy will, no doubt, be aware that up to February of this year, prices of standing timber suitable for fuel were controlled by Order. Experience had shown, however, that the maximum prices fixed for growing timber could not be effectively enforced, and, consequently, the Order was revoked.
The price of blocks suitable for firewood is controlled and, consequently, the price paid for growing timber suitable for firewood should be related to the price of blocks.
