Vol. 109 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Glencullen Tenants (Dublin).

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the acute congestion among smallholders in the Glencullen area; and if he will take steps to relieve the congestion in this area.

The Deputy's question appears to refer to the estates of Joyce, Cobbe Minors and O'Connell Fitzsimons which are situated in the Glencullen area. The question of rearrangement of the holdings comprised in these estates, and of the general improvement thereof, will be dealt with again by the Land Commission when circumstances permit. Previous attempts to secure the operation of a rearrangement scheme, particularly on the Joyce estate, have not been successful, due largely to the refusal of the tenants concerned to migrate to new holdings.
