I move that the Seanad amendments to this Bill be set down for consideration on Wednesday, 14th April next. The House is aware that this Bill went to the Seanad before the recent Dissolution. Certain rather unimportant amendments were made. Under the Constitution it is the duty of this House to consider them and it is proposed that they be put down for consideration on the 14th April next.
Local Elections Bill, 1947—From the Seanad.
It is customary to give an indication as to whether the Government propose to move for the acceptance of the amendments or not.
Perhaps the Deputy is aware that there are certain constitutional difficulties arising in connection with this Bill and he might leave the matter over for the moment.
Ordered accordingly.
