Vol. 110 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bus Service for Poulaphouca.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether Córas Iompair Éireann can now provide, by extending the service from Blessington, County Wicklow, or otherwise, an omnibus service for those people living near Poulaphouca, County Kildare, particularly in the early morning when they are going to their work in the city.

The morning bus leaves Blessington at 7.50 a.m. to bring workers into the city before 9 o'clock. This bus must first do a journey from Dublin at 6.50 a.m. bringing workers out to Tallaght and Crooksling. It would not be possible to extend the service to Poulaphouca without causing serious inconvenience to the passengers for which the service primarily caters.

The company is aware of the need for a morning service from Poulaphouca and hope to provide it when the position improves.
