Vol. 110 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Droichid i gCo. na Gaillimhe.

D'fhiafraigh

den Aire Rialtais Aitiúil an bhfuil fhios aige go bhfuil muintir Leitir Móir, Gharumna agus Leitir Mealláin gan cóir iompair phoiblí toisc toirmeasc a chuir Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe ar ualaí níos mó ná trí thonna ar Dhroichead Bhéal An Daingin; agus an bhféachfaidh sé chuige go gcuirfear caoi ar an droichead sin i riocht is go bhféadfar seirbhísí C.I.E. d'athosnú go luath.

The prohibition referred to by the Deputy was made by the county council after expert advice had been taken on the condition of three bridges in this area. Work has been done since then to provide a causeway between Annaghvann and Traghta to replace the bridge mentioned by the Deputy, and it is understood that the local authority has in mind completing this work during the present financial year, if possible. Considerable technical difficulties have been experienced in connection with the foundations and design of Carrigluggann bridge, and the matter is still being examined by the local authority's engineering staff and their consulting engineer. As soon as a decision has been reached on the Carrigluggann bridge, it is not expected that any difficulties will be experienced in regard to the third bridge.

D'fhiafraigh

den Aire Rialtais Aitiúil an bhfuil a fhios aige go bhfuil Droichead Flannery i dToghroinn Abhann Ghabhla contúirteach do na busanna; agus an gcuirfidh sé tús lena dhéanamh feiliúnach le haghaidh an trácht bóthair a bhíos air.

I have received no representations that this bridge is dangerous for bus traffic. Proposals for the reconstruction of the bridge are at present under examination in my Department.
