Vol. 113 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballymacoda (Cork) Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the grave deterioration of the lands at Yellow Ford, Ballymacoda, on the Ponsonby estate at the mouth of Womanagh river, Record No. L.C.1437; if inspectors from his Department inspected these lands some months ago and made an agreement with the tenants as regards embankments; and if he will state the reasons for the delay in starting the work and the date on which it will be commenced.

The Land Commission have no liability for the repair or maintenance of the River Womanagh embankments at Yellow Ford on the Ponsonby estate.

I understand that inspectors from the Department were down in that district and they made agreements with the tenants as regards the embankments.

Certain inquiries were made there, but no liabilities were undertaken.
