asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether applications have been made for increased live cattle quotas by countries other than Britain for the year 1949, and if he will give figures of reductions in the quotas allocated to such countries in 1949 in accordance with the terms of the agreement between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the United Kingdom.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Live Cattle Quotas.
Applications have so far been received from the Governments of two such countries for quotas of live cattle for the 1949 season in excess of the quotas granted to them for the 1948 season. No allocation of quotas has yet been made for the 1949 export season, which will not commence until about July.
