Vol. 114 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Housing Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that plans were submitted to his Department for a housing scheme in Donabate quite a long time ago; and, if so, whether he will state the cause of the delay in sanctioning the scheme.

Mr. Murphy

The last time that revised documents for a scheme of 26 houses at Donabate were submitted to my Department was on the 13th January last and these documents have since been approved. I understand that tenders for the development of the site and the erection of 12 of the houses will be invited at once, but that the erection of the remaining houses must await the provision of water and sewerage services. There has not been any delay by the Department in dealing with the plans for this scheme. The more recent revisions of the plans were made with the object of proceeding with a portion of the scheme in advance of the provision of piped water and sewerage services.

The Minister states that certain houses await the provision of water and sewerage. Where is it to come from?

Mr. Murphy

Surely that does not arise on this question.

It should, at any rate.
