Vol. 119 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sluice Gate (Kerry).

Mr. Flynn

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the losses caused to 17 tenants owing to the failure of the Land Commission to construct a sluice gate at Boulakeel Strand, Ballinskelligs, on the Palmer estate, which was inspected by an official of that office in 1945; and, if so, whether he will have immediate steps taken to provide a sluice gate.

A sluice at Boulakeel was repaired by the Land Commission in 1941 and a subsequent proposal to carry out further repairs had to be abandoned as the sluice was found to be damaged beyond repair. The Land Commission are at present considering a proposal to erect a new sluice and gate.
